NBSC: 6 YEARS FROM CONVERSION WITH STEADY PROGRESS
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) marked its six years since its conversion from a community college to a state college on October 8, 2026, at the campus covered court. Anchored on the theme, “From Vision to Transformation: Six Years of Building Excellence, Empowering Communities, and Shaping Futures,” the event celebrated the different milestones that the College has achieved.
The event was attended by officials from various government agencies from the municipal, provincial, and regional levels. The key highlight of the event was the State of the College Address (SOCA) delivered by College President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE.
Dr. Ganiera set the tone with her words: “I carried with me a clear conviction: every learner matters, every employee has an important role, and every decision must contribute to the future we are working to create.” She then presented the significant accomplishments of NBSC for the period of October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026.
She closed with a statement of assurance: “I remain fully committed to faithfully fulfilling my duties and serving NBSC with integrity, dedication, and excellence throughout the remaining years of my term.”
Messages of support and congratulations were also delivered by key officials from the local to the national government. Former Congresswoman Maria Lourdes Acosta-Alba expressed her congratulations to NBSC, lauding the impressive SOCA and reiterating her continued support, together with Congressman Jose Manuel F. Alba, for the College.
Vice Governor Clive D. Quiño’s message was delivered by Counselor Rina E. Quiño. In his message, the Vice Governor encouraged the students not to be hindered by hardships in pursuing their education, but instead to view them as challenges that can be overcome.
Messages from Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño, Congressman Jose Manuel F. Alba, and Senator Juan Miguel F. Zubiri were also conveyed through recorded videos.
Another highlight of the event was the presentation of an NBSC resolution expressing its appreciation to the officials of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manolo Fortich for the road concreting project leading to NBSC from the highway. The resolution was received by local officials led by Vice Mayor Reynaldo L. Bagayas, Jr., along with several municipal councilors who attended the event.
For NBSC, the past six years have brought significant growth and development. With the continued support of its leaders, employees, students, partners, and the wider NBSC community, the College looks forward to building on these gains as it continues to serve its learners and communities, guided by its commitment to excellence and faith in God.
